Renmark Gliding Club

As well as being a local gliding club, we're now offering ultralight training.

You're invited to come out to Renmark airport on the weekend and have a look at what we do. Just about everyone enjoys a trial instructional flight, where you fly with an instructor in either a two-seat glider or the ultralight. For flights it's best to book a time on 0417 890 215.

Gliding: some introductory information about gliding is on the Australian Soaring site, and the Gliding Federation of Australia site tells more about gliding in Australia.

Ultralights: the club has a Jabiru ultralight, which is available for flying training and hire .

News: Club AGM tonight (24 August 2008).

For Download: DRAFT version of the Club constitution (PDF, 120 kbytes). Please read and comment - we'll put the final version here when it is approved.

About the Club

Renmark is in South Australia, on the Murray River, just across the border from Mildura. The country around us is almost completely flat and dry, which makes it suitable for all kinds of flying training. With our hot summers, it's a great place to fly a glider.

Our Club's members are mostly local people, sharing an interest in flight. Many are involved with several forms of aviation - some will fly just about anything!

We fly most weekends, weather permitting, and can sometimes arrange flights through the week too. Our hot summer is the best time for serious cross-country gliding, but we have enjoyable flying all year round.

Our club gliders are a Blanik (two seater for training or flying with friends) and a Hornet (single seater). We use aerotow launching, with our club's Jabiru as the tug.

The ultralight training is done in our Jabiru, and some members' own ultralights are based here too.
