The Department of Aviation was set up to provide the highest level of training in the aviation sciences whilst also offering students the chance to soar above the earth.

What is UNSW Aviation ?

UNSW is ranked in the top 50 world universities by Times Higher Education, and of these only UNSW offers aviation degrees and flight training through its school of Aviation, known locally as UNSW Aviation.

Aviation Education includes:

  • higher degrees,
  • degrees,
  • and diplomas,
while Aviation Training includes all flight training and associated flight simulator and theory training.

UNSW Aviation personnel are very active in aviation research, and in this website you will be able to explore details of all these activities.

UNSW is now accepting applications for entry to the postgraduate coursework programs in aviation for Semester 1, 2009.

Wings Ceremony
We had our annual "Wings" ceremony on the evening of 12th December in which graduates of the flying program receive Certificates and Wings.

Undergraduate Graduation Process
Dear Undergraduate Students, Now that you have all received your results for S2 2008. If that was your final semester and you are expecting to graduate in April/May 2009, please submit a potential graduand form and a copy of your transcript (academic statement) for processing by 0900 Tuesday 27th January 2009. Potential graduand forms are attached and also available outside the office.
