Hey Pilot Wannabe,
If you learn to fly at a school at a regional airport, the costs will be lower, due to more flying time per dollar, etc. CoastJet Aviation College, where I am flying, is cheaper....check out their website on www.coastjet.com.au. Students there aren't required to wear a uniform, etc, but the standard of instruction is high, the instructors are highly qualified, and really are dedicated to producing safe and efficient aviators. They do require you to do a lot of work yourself, however. They don't have a ground school for theory, and you have to organise to keep your charts and documents up to date yourself...but that's fine. They don't believe in spoon-feeding pilots. Anyway, check them out.
Hope this helps and that you reach your dream!!!!
