Re:Expecting twins - 2008/03/22 00:00
I am by no means an expert but I am a Pilot who is just about to complete my CPL and also have just completed my Multi Engine Endorsement.
I would strongly reccomend that you do not get your Multi Engine Endorsmenet untill towards the end of your CPL training or untill you are at around 150 hours.
It is a common misconception that flying with two engines means twice the safety, this is wrong as if you loose an engine you loose more then 50% of the aircrafts performance and you also put yourself in a very dangerous situation with asymetric flight and with a low level of experiance on single engine aircraft this can be extremly dangerous.
You need to be able to fly singles to gain experiance in the air, learn the basics at a slower speed with less advance systems. Flying a twin is fantastic however it should not be tried untill your experiance in singles is much much higher then a GFPT or low time PPL.
