Importance of year 12 Maths Physics and English - 2007/01/25 11:45

Hi all,
Im soon to be starting my cpl and cir courses, at Parafield in Adelaide. Im going all out with the ambition of getting to the airlines long term. Does anyone know how important it is to have Physics, Maths and English passes at year 12 level for entry to the airlines. I have read the Qantas site many times and it specifies this, but people that I have talked to at flying schools etc say, English is not that necessary if you can already speak English, and just do a quick course in Physics and Maths like 3 weeks to get passes. Does anyone know of pilots that got jobs from these type of Intense Physics and Maths courses, do you think the airlines would favour someone with actual school passes in thses subjects as opposed to the intense course?

any opinions would be great as im thinking of doing school as well as flying training if it will help me much in the future
