A source inside the Regulator tells me that in a very short time all routine Class 2 medicals will be renewed by DAME without the 2 month CASA intervention period.

Since the DAME is doing the renewal the $130 fee should dissapear unless the medical is outside the DAME limits and requires CASA medical to rule on its effect in regard to any potential that the medical condition restricts the applicant fitness to fly.

This will bring Australia into line with the rest of the aviation world.

It would appear to support the contention that the DAME group as professionals were not at all happy with the amateur intervention by certain officials inside the regulator.
