Col Rodgers call for GA summit meeting. - 2006/06/10 22:05
John Gordon, President RA-Aus reports in June 06 magazine that Col Rodgers, AOPA President, wishes to sponsor a get together of the Presidents of RA-Aus, SAAA, LFA, the Seaplanes Association, RAAA, Women Pilots Association, ASAC, GFA and a number of other industry representatives.
Applauding the initiative, John Gordon acknowledged there were wounds that need healing and given that AOPA's sole source of income is from their membership, encouraged aircraft owners to join the organisation.
In what may surprise some, he also acknowledged that AOPA are there to lobby on behalf of all aircraft owners.
In other news he touched on self administration for GA and the role that RA-Aus may play in it when Col Rodgers reiterated AOPA's view that they did not see themselves providing self administration for GA.
In a positive move to garner membership it was also announced that AOPA membership for RA-Aus members would attract the afiliate discount of $99.
A balanced report worth reading and will certainly go a long way to maintaining the impetus this outstanding initiative seeks to achieve.
